Automation Technology & future sociology guest lectures (Mars Hill University)

While pursuing my Psychology and Business degree studies at MHU I gave a sociology class presentation about my concerns and ideas regarding the ever-increasing social conflicts between Man and Machine. This professor enjoyed my discussion so much that he has repeatedly invited me back to end his intro to sociology classes by hosting a discussion about the future of technology, where we are going, and where we could go. I have very much enjoyed these opportunities to engage with others about my ideas and thoughts of the future in a public setting.

Below are some unedited recordings of those guest lectures:

Presenting GearFire Pizza Inc.
At MHU SLAM Seminar Event 2023

Spending months working on the business plan, branding, 3D graphics demo, and all other preparations to communicate my growing vision for Robot Pizza. It was an honor and a wonderful opportunity to present at our University SLAM Seminar Event in May of 2023.

Robot Pizza Food Truck Kickstarter

Launching our Kickstarter project to crowdfund the next step in prototyping the vision for a robotic pizza food truck.

Learning & Experimenting with Automation Robotics

Making A Robot Dance the Disco (MCC)

When an artist joins an engineering class... things get a bit crazy. We decided to make the kuka dance with the connected help of some plc automation, a record player, and LEDs.

First Robot Pan Flip Testing

of course before putting in any food products I had to make sure it could flip some cubes.

Experimenting With Automated Pancakes

After a few weeks, we were trying to get our kuka to make a proper pancake... with varied results. We are pretty sure the next step lies more in pancake sciences than robotics, but we are building off this, with more improvements, to try and make another kind of meal a bit more consistently.

First Live Run of the Stir-Fry Program

We did it!! Our Kuka Chef can now officially cook a solid stir fry! ...Just wait until you’re all walking up to a Robo-Chef Kiosk to order some awesome stir fry!

Repeated Run of the Stir-Fry Program

Right after our kuka chef finished its first successful stir fry... I filled the ingredient cups and made it go again!! The stirfry was still awesome and we had a bit more ingredients left, maybe a 3rd batch?...

Example of the Stir-Fry Ladder Code

A bit of "behind the scenes" look at the lines of pinpoint code the robot uses to run through the prescripted cooking routine. It was awesome getting the rest of the small class excited about this project. They all contributed to building/machining the unique components to make this prototype test come together. I was able to come in during off-hours a few times to rewrite our code a few times until it was exactly correct. This came down to the finest of adjustments, including programming it under heated conditions to account for the thermal expansion of the metals without losing or misaligning grips (which led to a few prior catastrophic failures/spills).
